Why The Cube Method?

Over the past three years I have been developing a method to organise your thoughts for digital planning. I wanted to keep things simple but ensure any action was taken for the right reasons and measured accordingly. There have been a few changes over the years but it all boils down to this: The Cube Method©.

It starts with the cube face and four quadrants which make up the cycle of digital planning, implementation, review and optimisation:

  1. Setting organisational goals
  2. Identifying your target audience and which platforms you can use to engage with them
  3. Content strategy and planning
  4. Measuring success and tracking improvements

Behind this cube face, the hard work happens – but by concentrating on this first, you can organise your thoughts and manage expectations. If you were to turn the cube around you would see that each quadrant then has its own more in-depth areas of action.

This method can be used to plan your overall digital strategy or much smaller more specific campaigns. Keep it simple, start with your goals, measure your successes and failures and use the information to improve on your next trip round the cycle.
